Reimagined THE FANTASTICKS will open on Broadway this fall Jun 3 2026, 03:40:09 PM
HenryTDobson said: "Sorry if this a dumb question..... could the score be eligible for best new score next year since it hasn't been on Broadway yet?"
I think in the past when something is so known and commonly produced, it sometimes ends up being a "revival" even if never on B'way before.

Has Anyone Caught the HEATED RIVALRY Parody Musical? May 27 2026, 04:32:45 PM
Just like the guy hosting SNL, it all seems soooo fast. (SNL gig was only a couple of months after hitting the public eye) This phenomenon is only 6-ish months in, and we already have a legit commercial launch of a parody musical. Wish things could percolate a bit more before becoming so all-encompassing.

CHESS Sets June 21 Closing May 26 2026, 07:10:15 PM
Long term sales for Lea M’s replacement must have looked bleak.
Really wish they could’ve filmed this… The last filmed version has such terrible audio which is a shame.

Laura Benanti & Tituss Burgess to host Tony Awards: Act One May 20 2026, 12:50:04 PM
Really, really wish they were hosting the whole thing... but yeah, I know CBS wanted a bigger "name".

Meryl Streep considering return to Broadway with Martin Short Apr 23 2026, 04:05:58 PM
Would love to see them as Mary and Mary's Husband. And with absolutely zero acknowledgment they're 30-40 yrs older than the rest of the characters/cast. (insane and will never happen... can you imagine the ticket prices?)

CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Previews Apr 5 2026, 12:08:33 AM
Tonight's (Sat) evening show's judges were Trammell Tillman (Severance) and Jelani Alladin.
Energy was amazing... hate hearing the matinee crowd was a dud. :-(
House right Box F 1-3 seats were a blast! Might not have liked them as much with a traditionally staged show or non-musical, but for this they were epic; felt right in the middle but also kinda "peeking in." Was cool, and a bonus was they're well priced.

I was at an early preview and the final performance, I don't recall this ever happening..."
Might have been a temporary/momentary joke if that performance overlapped with all the pub

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW Previews Mar 31 2026, 04:40:08 PM
Just noticed this in my "your upcoming performance" email from Roundabout. Guess they're trying to keep it fun for the longtime fans, but within reason for everyone else I guess? Hmmm... Wonder how many meetings they've had about this topic. haha - Feel free to engage with the show genuinely: react, vocalize, laugh, or cry. Just please do not intentionally distract your neighbors or the artists on stage.

Vampire Musical Memories - Anyone Else See Dracula, Lestat & Dance Of the Vampires? Mar 29 2026, 03:36:10 PM
Saw Lestat. Biggest crime it committed was just being flat out boring. Tedious and unmemorable.

New Sara Bareillis musical THE INTERESTINGS to premiere at Berkeley in 2027; Michael Arden directing Mar 26 2026, 12:34:21 PM
Just finished the book today… loved it, and hated leaving the characters behind. Am hopeful Bareilles and Arden can work some alchemy as I have zero idea how this could work as a musical (or play for that matter). The book spanning almost four decades would seem to be only one of the challenges.

I wouldn't hold your breath... was over 100% capacity the last two weeks as they might be selling standing room.

Alexander Lamar said: "Are the box seats loose chairs or regular theatre seats?"
Description says they’re low back stools around a cafe table. Pix look like they’re mid-back leather barstools which I’m fine with. Back support makes me happy. :-)

Took a chance on F 1-3 box seats house right for next week. Only other option for three together was pretty far back in the orchestra, and the overhang seems to be an issue. We'll see. 🤞

Arden, known for his work on acclaimed Broadway revivals, brings strong theatrical storytelling that many fans think could fit the film’s dark, rebellious tone. Plus, since the Megan Thee Stallion casting for MR, there is also a bit of teeth gnashing going on right now about casting non-theatrecelebrities into roles that could’ve gone to experienced theatre actors, but instead choosing the cash grab."
Make that "since ________ casting for _______ for decades...choosing the cash grab"
