FORBIDDEN BROADWAY TO CLOSE JAN 15 AFTER 27 WONDERFUL YEARS.

My favorite show is closing on January 15th. If you have never seen it and you have seen everything, Forbidden Broadway is a treasure that can't be missed.

I am very sad about this and wanted to let you know that the newest edition (Forbidden Broadway Goes To Rehab) is one of the finest and strongest editions yet.

Jan 15th will be a very sad day indeed.

Go and check it out.

There is no Broadway like Forbidden Broadway.

I won tickets for this at the flea market, but they were for the same night as my school's homecoming dance. I have a feeling I'll regret missing this for a LONG time...

I'll always have fond memories of the FB perf I saw when I first went to NYC in 2006. Also, the recording "Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back" is memorable... with the battles Patti LuPone has with Glenn Close and some person named Madonna. I'm thinking that having had a "breather", Forbidden Broadway will return. from RC in Austin, Texas... (p.s. yet another new avatar)
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

This is a closing that will really hit me! Before moving to NY, I made sure that I'd see that show every time I'd visited and it would be a different version.

It has really taken over me, especially when I see a show and only think if the parody when the real song is being performed in front of me! (tour of Chorus Line a la Cats)
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

Saying farewell to Forbidden Broadway is like saying good-bye to an old and cherished friend. I've seen a half a dzen versions of F.B. since I first found it at Palsons Supper Club (or something like that, it was so long ago). So many laughs and chuckles,it was the kind of evening that just flew by. I'd love a video of highlights, or as a previous contributor wrote, a CD of some of the numbers which never made it to a recording.
