Finnfanatic, I love the fact that you played Gordon.........Of interest to me is always that I saw A NEW BRAIN "by default."
A few years back I was in Manhattan for just one night and that happened to be the night of THE TONY AWARDS!!! Well, I decided to have my "other half" tape the Tonys back at home, while I went with a work colleague to a live show......
I believe it was a Sunday night and also Tony night so there were maybe just one or two other things playing that night.....
I was well prepared for this New York business visit and had purchased my A NEW BRAIN tickets (being thrilled at a new Finn show and one with Penny Fuller and Mary Testa in it) well in advance.
I absolutely plotzed at how wonderful it was....The people I brought to it loved it too, heck the whole audience seemed to love it...
Like many works, A NEW BRAIN gets better and richer each time you hear the cd, doesn't it? I simply adore it.

I agree, Teacher. A few months had passed after I was in the show without listening to the CD (I had decided to take a break...it was a very strenous and time-consuming 2 months). I immediately fell in love with the show all over again. I'm so jealous that you got to see the show with Kristin Chenowith and Malcom Getz and Norm Lewis(?) Was he in it at that point do you know?
I saw a production of it at Central Connecticut State University (drove almost 2 hours just to see it, and then drove home....twice). I was floored by this production. It was in a very intimate space, but the cast was full of power and emotion. Every harmony was right on (even the 7 or 8 part ones!)

I never said you were from the Bronx.
I only said that your opinions, while harsh, are not well reasoned. You're basically full of crap.

Finn,
It's actually kind of a genius, existential thought when you take it at face value:
'the bored is boring'
Almost profound.
Almost.

Posted: 7/22/04 at 3:34pmYou know, Robbie, to be honest, the thought DID cross my mind that maybe bronx was trying to be clever and creative, and maybe even a bit existential. But then I remembered the previous posts from bronx and all of those thoughts quickly left my mind.

Posted: 7/22/04 at 3:46pmOkay, this is scary. I'm starting to wonder if my love for Browadway is not real. Could my whole past be a lie? What does it mean if I only like MAMMA MIA!, MOVIN' OUT, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA but not FALSETTOS, AVENUE Q, or anything by Sondheim?

Posted: 7/22/04 at 3:56pmWow Bronx it seems like every time I come onto this board, you are saying a show sucks without explaining why. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you are just going to say every show is bad and not back up your opinion you should just not even bother posting.
