I'm really enjoying the off Broadway recording, but was the broadway cast ever recorded with the changes that were made?

Sadly no.
I wished there had been but only various bootlegs of the show have been around over the years.
Yeah it's a bit frustrating to try to collect all of the Marvin Trilogy material...
I finally got In Trousers' recording last year, only to discover it barely resembled the text in the book of all three scripts; I guess there were major revisions to the score after March of the Falsettos was produced. I adore the double album of that and Falsettoland, though I wish I had an OBC (mostly for Carolee Carmello and Barbara Walsh).
Yeah, the current In Trousers is from a 1985 revision. Some of the 1970s original was inconsistent with March... but mostly the changes were made just to expand the piece and give it more of a linear plot. It's too bad there isn't a recording to reflect it.
Sounds like something PS Classics should do: get an all-star cast to record a 3-disc set of the entire Marvin Plays. That would be pretty cool.
If they do a studio recording, please get Mandy Patinkin on board because his "Father to Son" is gorgeous.
With the 2016 revival coming up, there will probably be a new cast recording.
Thanks for reminding me, I'd completely forgot about that upcoming revival! Fingers crossed for a terrific recording.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but is there any place to find a decent recording of In Trousers? The only one I can see is the Off Broadway recording and I can’t seem to find it anywhere (unless I want to pay $100). It looks like at least some of it is on YouTube, so I could rip it from there. Just wondering if I missed anything
Edit: Also that recording is the 1979 version, is there a recording of the more fleshed out 85 version?
There's only that one recording of In Trousers. I happen to like it very much as an album, but it absolutely does not reflect the material as it is now.
I can't imagine another recording being made unless there's some high-profile revival or something like an Off-Center concert. I don't even know when the last major production was.
