Do you think there's anyway a DVD of this show could be released? Maybe put the show up for a week in LA and tape it? Some of the humor would most likely be changed for LA (I'm guessing), but an edited record is better than none. I ask for a few reasons . . .
A)Its Martin Short, so while Broadway-based, it would have commerical appeal.
B)The limited engagement is over, and since there's no tour, it wouldn't be stepping on any production's toes.
C)Because its all based around Martin Short, it can't really be done without him. So it would be a good historical record, since any revival would have to be another limited engagement with him, and after he bites it, no more Fame Becomes Me.
As far as I know, there's none planned, but I think it would be a good idea from both a fan and commerical veiw. Any thoughts?

If I'm not mistaken, a tour is in the works.
No tour.
I believe I heard that the tour was cancelled because he was offered a movie deal, not sure if that's reliable or not.

I think a DVD is a wonderful idea.
I'd buy a DVD of the show.
Plenty of people like Martin Short.

I was disappointed with the show. I was told it was non-stop laughter. But I laughed more at THE PRODUCERS and THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE.
FAME BECOMES ME had its moment. Many of which I had already seen in promo video clips online, so I knew what to expect. The best part, aside from the Jiminy Glick interview, was "Big Black Woman Stop The Show."
It will never come out for the same reasons other shows do not come out on DVD
The show sucked...who would want it on DVD???

Just about everyone on here would want it on DVD!
I agree that it would be a great idea, but it will never happen
Not everyone feels the same way
It wasn't a limited engagement to begin with.
It was going to be open run, but come January, after having played a half a year or so at the Jacobs, it was time to close up shop. There was an interview posted on a few websites where Mr. Short had said that he wanted to leave while he was still on top, and how he felt it was time.
It will be GREATLY missed by this fella here, having seen the show last August, and meeting him afterwards (which was the thrill of a lifetime!). Unfortunately, I highly doubt a recording of the show will ever become available ... for the same reasons there aren't DVDs made of so many other Broadway shows ... I wish it otherwise.

Short had prior film commitments and rather than keep paying rent on the theater for 3-5 months, they closed it.
