What are some of your favorite covers of songs from musicals, whether professionally released by the artists or just performed live at concerts?
I love John Barrowman and Daniel Boys "I Know Him So Well" from Chess.
The Mamas and the Papas' My Heart Stood Still from A Connecticut Yankee, and Janis Joplin's Little Girl Blue from Jumbo.

Love Anthony Warlow singing "This is the Moment". Updated On: 3/23/09 at 07:00 AM
Does Anthony Warlow's rendition really count :P? I think he was too closely involved with the project.
But on the subject my favourites are a bunch of Bernadette Peters songs (e.g Being Alive, You'll never walk alone) and Anthony Warlow - Bring him Home.
Kimilee Bryant's "No One is Alone"

I thought Warlow played Valjean once.
I love 5th Dimension's Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In. And most of the AFA HAiR concert (Yea, it's basically a cover album)
Barbra Streisand's "Adelaide's Lament", "Pretty Women/Ladies Who Lunch", and "Being Alive"...
also very random, but on the Season 3 Finale of American Idol, Ruben, Kelly, Fantasia, and Diana sang a pretty interesting version of "The Impossible Dream"

Well the thread didn't ask about being connected to the project, hence why I slipped it in. :)
But speaking of You'll Never Walk Alone - I'll throw in the duet of David Campbell and Jimmy Barnes (yes DC, did a production of Carousel, but damn that duet rocks).

Diana Ross and the Supremes did an album of songs from Funny Girl that was a surprise and a total delight. It should be out on CD.
Here's their "Cornet Man":

I like Barbra Streisand's "You'll never walk alone", the version which is featured on her Higher Ground cd, though that version is put together with "I believe".
I also like Sarah Brightman's version of "The Journey home" from Bombay Dreams.
Duncan James & Keedie version of "I believe my heart" from The Woman In White is also one of my favorites.
So is Nicola Hughes's fantastic "Life is just a bowl of cherries" from Fosse.

I second Michael Buble's "Feeling Good."
Anthony Warlow's 'Losing My Mind'. No question about it. :3
I love Christine Andreas' "Here's To The Ladies" CD which is all covers of songs from musicals. Stand out tracks for me are 'Will He Like Me?', 'BIll' and 'Some People.'
Oh, and Audra McDonald's 'Somewhere' is understated and gorgeous.
