i'm finding that the show must really vary considerably from night to night.

re: Favorite Forbidden Broadway Spoofs

OMG...how can I choose just one??? I love them all. I love the Les Miz stuff and the turntable thing they do. I saw the show in April, and they were still doing the Urinetown spoof. Since I'm a Urinetown geek, I loved it!

I hope to see the show again this coming April. A trip to New York is not complete without going to see forbidden broadway.

re: Favorite Forbidden Broadway Spoofs

Yay for Urinetown! I like all of the Forbidden Broadway stuff I've heard... but favorites include:

I Enjoy Being A Cat (just because the refrain is stuck in my head right now...)
Master Class With Patty LuPone
Ouch, They're Tight
RANT (L. A. boheeeeeeeeme!)

I cringe every time someone misprounounces 'La Boheme' or 'La Vie Boheme'-- I've heard some very interesting interpretations of both... but I love RANT.

The Phantom of the Musical
I Couldn't Hit the Note
Folies Bergeres
I Get a Kick Out of Me
Chita Rita
Liza One-Note
A Chorus Cat

Well, just about everything from Volume 2, really. It's the best of the recordings.

"Ten Years More" is still one of my favs!
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

Agreed on Ten Years More, definitely my favorite. Especially the fake turntable miming. Apparently they had ordered a little Lazy Susan and when it didn't come in in time for previews, they decided to mime it in the meanwhile. They then cancelled the lazy susan when they realized how funny it was...

The new version opens December 16th.
I Can't wait.
I can't wait to see Christine Pedi, although I am mourning the loss of Michael West. I adore Michael and he is in Vegas with Val.
I hope the new guys are good.

Well, I saw it in previews and I thought the cast was really good. I know I've said this before, but if you didn't read it, I'll re-iterate: Christine wasn't in it, but the girl who played her (not the understudy though) was phenomenal. The cast was really tight and seemed to be having a lot of fun.
Oh man, I wish I'd seen some of the older versions...
Why do we play with fire? Why do we run our fingers through the flame? Why do we leave our hands on the stove, although we know we're in for some pain? -tick...tick...BOOM!

I'll miss him too, Corine. He's fabulous :) But I can't wait to see Christine Pedi again!
