it's really hard what exactly to call that "in between" time with shows like Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Pippin, Godspell from 1970 to I guess 1987 when Les Miz came out, which I think is one of first modern ones etc. Because I think they are not Golden Age nor Modern. It's hard to give them an exact genre. They definately brought in a new style during that time from past traditional shows.

Sorry if this is a really long list, I can't help it.

Modern Day: Footloose, Rent, Hairspray, Suessical
Golden: Singin' in the rain, student prince (actually an operetta) west side story, chorus line, jesus christ superstar, cats, fiddler on the roof, the music man, annie, oliver, babes in arms, annie get your gun, snoopy, guys and dolls, my fair lady... There are many more.

Thanx Everyone...So you know my Favorites are as follows:
Golden Age: Camelot/My Fair Lady
modern: Wicked

Having only read the libretto of Wicked I have found that I really have a lot in common with both the lead females which is something I love. It reminds me that no matter how "far out" your world is you will always have something in common with someone. I think it's fantastic.

GOLDEN AGE: GUYS AND DOLLS
MODERN DAY: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (even though it was before 1990, but I put it because the Golden Age didn't last until 1990!)
