Hey guys!
So I'm going to be in the city for the month of June with a super small theatre budget, but I have a lot of shows that I want to see. So, just throw out your fave ways to get super cheap or comp tix - I'm wondering if there's any I haven't heard of. I'm also looking for free readings to attend, so if you know of any in June, post them here!
Right now I'm a member on TodayTix, Tix4Students, Gold Club, and I'm going to renew my TDF membership. Any other sites I should be a member of that's worth the price?
Thanks guys!

Gold club is useless, a total waste of money.

Comp tix? From whom would you get that?

Are you under 30? If so, join mtc's 30 for 30 club and get tickets to the Father and Ruins of Civilization for $30. Also Hiptix for $25 tickets to She Loves Me and Long Day's Journey. (For $75 you can upgrade both those Hiptix tickets to orchestra). Bright Star has nice balcony seats for $45, just ask at the box office. Rushing can get you good tickets at low prices. Also a lot of shows will have tickets in the back of the balcony for under $50...

Are there any codes for American Psycho? I really want to see it before it closes, I'll only be able to attend the last show, but the cheapest I've found tix in advance is around $50. I'm not sure I want to chance the rush and lottery for the last performance - unless those tix are usually always available?
Also, is there any codes for Daddy Long Legs that are cheaper than $50?
Thanks!

Telecharge has a $50 offer for DLL and $69 for American Psycho. Both of those shows are going to be difficult to get real discounts because they are closing so soon.

Daddy Long Legs has a rush for I think $30, details are on the website. They are also on Goldstar for $20 (or $40)+$10 fees sometimes, I don't know about recently.
To the OP: also join LincTix if you're in that age group (21-35), it's similar to HipTix. 2nd Stage also has a 30under30 like MTC. I like Playbill's overview over all the Off-Broadway ticketing policies: click.
Besides that, if you are able to do the rush lines in the morning, that's usually the cheaptest way to get Broadway tickets. And since you're in the city for a whole month, you can also enter a all the digital lotteries every day until you win. Enter several a day, you should win one or the other pretty quickly. If you have a friend who can enter as well, even better.
You could also sign up to the willcallclub newsletter. They'll send you invites for comps sometimes (very rarely but doesn't hurt). Their annual membership fee is $20 but you can get the newsletter and invites for free and only sign up the first time you get tickets, if ever. Also get an account on showscore and rate at least 10 shows, they'll start sending you invites for a ton of obscure Off-Broadway (and possibly Off-Off) shows for free.

My FAVORITE way? Sleeping with the stage door guy. It gets the job done. ![]()
