I'm pretty positive that there has been a post exactly like this in the past but I haven't come across it, so I will ask one of the most frequently asked questions.
What is your favorite song in the whole world, by who, and if it is from a musical, which musical?

that's really tough! um.. I like "Dentist!" from LSOH it's really funnie! but for a more melotic(sp?) song it would have to be "Home" from Beauty and the Beast! i love singing that song! it's right in my range!

Belle, that's a toughy. I don't think I can list just one. There is the whole raft of Sondheim songs from 'Being Alive' and 'Not Getting Married Today' and 'A Little Priest' to 'Loving You.' Then there are the songs that fit a theatrical moment such as 'Betrayed' from the Producers.

Oh, Belle there are too many. My head hurts. So, with Tylenol in hand I give you a song that is apt but doesn't come from a musical - 'Unwell' from Matchbox Twenty. It's a good shower song.

What You Own from Rent

Although 30/90 from tick, tick, BOOM is slowly growing on me.

"Don't rain on my parade" from Funny Girl and "Nobodys Side" from Chess are my favorite showtunes. (But mad cheers for "30/90" and the rest of Tick Tick Boom as well.)

As for other music, for me it always comes back to Tori Amos, and especially "Fire on the side"

Yay for Funny Girl. Revive THAT show, with Stephanie J. Block (Who has played the role before) and it would make my life complete.

All right, I'm sure that I'll be the only one to post a rap song, but I love a song called "Groovin Tonight" by St. Lunatics/Brian McKnight. Its hard to say, though.

I love the song Out Tonight from Rent because Daphne Rubin-Vega is an awsome Mimi and I love it when she sings it! I also enjoy listening to Cell Block Tango from the Chicago London Cast Recording.

Hard to choose-
comes down between "Back To Before" or "Make Them Hear You" from Ragtime

"Im not afraid of anything!" songs for a new world.isnt it funny that as singers you always love songs that are in your range and you can belt out (although this song is not in my range)the other is also "make them hear you" from ragtime.

JaiLuver2007,
I love Zanna Don't. I saw it when it off-broadway. Is it true that its coming to broadway? I haven't been keeping tabs on that.
