Gody god! I just purchased the Spamalot OBC and love everything about it. Especially, Ms. Ramirez, with her lovely lounge singer voice. So, now whom should I root for? Such a dillema! I witnessed Celia...Bolger in Spelling Bee and her character was on of my faviortes, even if she...(don't want to spoil the show). Is Ramirez someone who deserves to win, with her minimal part? Dunno. Obviously we wait till the 5th of June, but in this featured category who do you see yourself rooting for or winning for that matter?
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!
I really loved Bolger, but O'Hara's performance is wonderful in every way -- I would give it to her instantly. Of course, she has a very slim chance of winning, but I can hope.
really ms. piazza should be up there too... i see piazza on saturday and i'm so excited! for real! also ms. little women should have been there too... and it seems funny to me to say that ms. drs seems to be the least likely to win... i thought she was fabulous in the show and i mean come on, she's joanna gleason! but it's such a packed category this season!
I forgot about Joanna, which is weird, because I'm a huge Joanna fan. Her role really isn't anything too memorable, which is why she most likely won't win.
Plum, if not anything else, you'll love Guettel's score, Clark, and O'Hara.
I've only seen Bee and Piazza, plus I'm a bit biased, but my vote is for Ms. Bee. For the 'I Love You' Song alone...
real tears get me every time :) I think it's just amusing that two clara's past and present are both competing for the same prize. Both women are incredible in their roles but once again - Ms. Bee made more of an impression.
I haven't been able to hear or see the others, so how can I choose exactly. Maybe once the cast recordings come out for the others maybe I can give a fair vote. I'm at the moment trying to get tickets to see Piazza next month when I visit. This year is just a big year for all categories.
Saw 'em both and I vote for Ms. Spam. Ramirez is absolutely hilarious and her voice is beautiful. I liked Ms. Bee but didn't think it was anything that special.
Haven't seen them (yet, I plan to before the Tonys hopefully), but right now, I'd say I'd love to see Ms. Bee to win it. I always love rooting for the underdog, and Ms. Spam is definitely not the underdog. And anyway, from what I hear from other people, Celia Keenan-Bolger was just fantastic.
I HATE this category this year. I'm really torn. Thank God it's not up to me.
"Goodness is rewarded. Hope is guaranteed. Laughter builds strong bones. Right will intercede. Things you've said I often find I need, indeed. I see the world through your eyes. What's black and white is colorized. The knowledge you most dearly prized I'm eager to employ. You said that life has infinite joys."
Could This bee the Upset this Year? Sada had all the Momentum but did it loose it's force to the Power that is Cellia? Best to All the Women nominated! Jan Maxwell will definitely get one or two Joanna Gleason is a Dream and has a great one and Kelly, c'mon So Much Talent!
It will be a wonderful Tony awards this year. (or so I am hoping) I would say that Ramirez is the favorite - though I'd love to see O'hara take it. I think that the featured actor category will be the toughest of the musical acting categories. The play categories are almost all close-calls.
Do you actually think that a lady who's in virtually ever scene of a show and does an incredible tranformation as an adult trapped in a child mind isn't gonna walk away with a Tony?
