Yes, I know I could do a few searches, and probably get my answers, but I much prefer discussion with likeminded people than to sit alone in my room with my Google. Do you mind? :)
So anyway, I was thinking it's about damn time I got to NY for some theatre again. I figure February is probably my safest bet, as the main purpose for my coming would be to try and catch 'In the Heights' before there's not so much left of the original cast. Although as there doesn't seem to be any date for the exodus yet (who is leaving in February anyway? And is there really no date, or have I just missed it?), I'm not quite sure when precisely in February it'd be.
So what'll be around in February generally that'd be worth seeing? I'm totally up for plays and off-Broadway as well. My list of possibilities so far reads:
'In the Heights'
'Gypsy' (another reason to not leave it any later than Feb XD)
'Shrek' (I can't help it, I have an optimism for this show 
)
Also 'West Side Story' maybe, although as that's coming at the end of February, that's a definite maybe and I'm quite prepared for the fact I may not see it.
All recommendations and information will be gratefully received. :)

I personally love In The Heights, and I highly recommend it. Lin-Manuel Miranda is leaving in February, but the date hasn't been announced yet.
I also think Shrek or Gypsy would be great choices!

True, true. I might get hit by a bus tomorrow. Can we work on optimism, and I just won't buy any tickets yet?

If you haven't seen Billy Elliot, you might want to catch that.
Guys and Dolls will be in previews in February so that's also possibility.
