I have never seen Feeling Electric live, but I love the songs to it. I was reading a description of the show on Wilkapedia earlier.

In the end it says "Meanwhile, Dr. Madden's narration begins again, and we learn that "patient Q731: D. Brown" is actually Dan Brown, and the entire play was actually about Dan and his descent into mental illness, not his wife, as Dr. Madden notes sadly how long Dan has been depressed and how long it took him to seek help. Natalie offers her father words of encouragement, trying to get him to keep living, and Gabriel joins in, as does Dr. Madden. Even Diana does, and Dan finally joins in as well, as the play ends the same way it began (Let There Be Light Reprise).

Now, I always knew at the end Dr. Madden was introducing Dan Brown as his patient..but I don't understand-- Diana isn't actually crazy? I'm so confused. Can someone please explain it to me? Thanks!

I read that and am curious as well, what an awesome show *Crosses fingers for an Off-Broadway run next year*.

Edit: Rereading the plot summary, I'm thinking that the entire show is a flashback maybe? And that Diana did go crazy and all of it really did happen, and that's what led to Dan's depressing finally reaching its peak. Updated On: 5/27/06 at 03:31 PM

What confused me is that patient Q731: DBrown was always Dan Brown. But what about when Diana is talking to Dr. Madden.. how is she not the patient then?

Diana was still a patient of Dr. Madden's.... D Brown being Dan doesn't change that. Part of the reason he's depressed is because she struggled with her illness for so long.

Now, the really pertinent question is what the heck are they smelling in the song "Getting Better"?

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
