While she wasn't part of the press release announcing the cast, I was told that Felicia Finley was listed with the principal cast members at the recent press preview presentation for CATCH ME IF YOU CAN in Seattle.
I would presume she's playing Cheryl Ann, the call girl played by Jennifer Garner in the film. In the stage version, she sings the terrific number "You've Gotta Pay For Love" (Sara Gettelfinger and Tamyra Gray both played the role in various workshops and readings.)
Does anyone know anything further?
I thought the same thing. Since Kerry Butler is already playing Brenda that only really leaves the Jennifer Garner role. When I read that earlier I was a little surprised that there wasn't more coverage of it. I really like Finley and yet had no idea she was even in this. The more I read about Catch Me If You Can the more I'm contemplating just flying out there for a matinee and then flying back (to save on getting a hotel). My biggest fear is that I will like it so much that I'll immediately buy a ticket for that night's performance, thereby ensuring my wallet crying out.
Although I'm looking forward to a lot of shows premiering soon/possibly coming to Broadway next season, a majority of which are adaptations (Addams Family, First Wives Club, Once?, Betty Boop, Dirty Dancing, Spider-Man, this, etc.) this seems to have the best team behind it and generally the most going for it. Sure Spider-Man has Taymor and U2, the Family has Lippa and a dream team for a cast, and First Wives Club has three ladies that have done some pretty stellar work (although it does seem to already be a revolving door of actresses), but after reading things on here and listening to some of the songs I'm now kind of psyched for this show.

That's the female role that for some reason, was never mentioned in any of the press releases (including the one listing the "complete" cast). Kerry Butler and Rachel DeBenedet are playing the other two leading female roles. Finley seems a good choice for Cheryl Ann. I was actually just wondering what had become of her the other day.
I wonder why they kept her casting so quiet?

I'm assuming she was cast at the last minute, but it's weird they haven't had any sort of follow up announcement about her, or at least a line in the initial release saying something about casting for Cheryl Ann being announced at a later date.
You'd think Finley's agent would insist on her getting some sort of coverage.
Damn you, Mormonophobic! Now I'M looking at flights out to Seattle to catch this.
Arrrgh.
I completely agree, somethingwicked. I was actually wondering about this. Truly, I was still foolishly hoping that Sarah Gettelfinger would join since I do enjoy her rendition from the Demo that was out a few years ago, but I know she's in Three Graces and well, busy with her own stuff. Nice cast of Broadway regulars.
Sometimes I dream that they would recast Amy Adams in the stage version, she's just way too adorable.
That'd be fabulous, that's the first time I remember noticing her and really liking her. How great would she be reprising her role on stage?
Yes, she is. I saw her mention it on her Facebook a couple of times and asked her about it through there and she confirmed to me a week or so ago that she is playing the Garner role. :)
Woah! I just realized that I'm going to be in Seattle for a conference while this is playing! And there are tickets still available. Kismet! I'm sure folks who see it earlier in the run will post their thoughts before me, but I'll add my two cents in early August. How exciting! It'll be my first pre-Broadway engagement...I never leave New York (which I don't mean to be snotty--it's just pretty much true).
Is Felcia not coming to broadway with CMIFYC?
Her character has apparently been cut.
Catch Me If you Can...that's the musical about Spider-Man, right?
She was cut?? Awh, that's a shame. She did a good job being sexy and getting naked, like she always does. lol Honestly, though, he voice wasn't up for "You Gotta Pay For Love". She was great, but there were points where she was just screaming the notes. And the scene was sexy and funny, but I can see why they would cut it.

I have heard that "You Gotta Pay for Love" and the scene accompanying that have been cut, but the character is still in it. Finley is just not doing the role anymore...Rachelle Rak is now doing the role as a step-out ensemble part.

I thought the song was good but it didn't really further the plot in any way and wasn't strong enough to be a show stopper. Glad the role is in though, I thought Cheryl Ann's scene was extremely funny mainly due to the one liners.
Whoa, this is an old thread. Whatever happened to Sara Gettelfinger?
ray, Gettelfinger is currently on Broadway in A FREE MAN OF COLOR.
