In response to the earlier question, the stage door wait is pretty short. Denzel (at least as of last weekend) still doesn't sign for anybody and just shakes hands. Viola Davis is a saint, though -- she signed and took pictures and joked with the huge crowd and really took her time (although she was smart enough to come out after Denzel did, so a lot of people left). She stepped out of the stage door within about 20 minutes, although I imagine she takes a long time to finish. (The stage door guy said she can be out there for an hour, although she doesn't always do the stage door after every single performance.)

I have to say, though, that the management of the stage door crowd by the theater is horrendous. The "wait here first, then go over there later" part is completely chaotic.

So I just got to the theater and I'm about 28th online. Should I stick it out? Do they ever give out those wristbands that give you a number?

No luck. They ran out about 5 or 6 people in front of me. I really just wanted to see the show, I couldn't care less about Denzel.I'm seeing Promises Promises instead and I don't have to stand

I wanted to confirm from those of you who have done this if it's in fact 2 tickets per person?

Do Denzel and Viola stage door after matinees?

Got there at 5:45 this morning and was at least 21st in line- I may have missed a few people. The line curved off of the wall and into the sidewalk, for some reason. I waited for maybe 10 minutes and decided to go home and back to sleep instead of waiting the 4 hours and probably not having gotten a ticket. Especially sitting on the curb. At this point, this one's a camper!

In terms of the stage door after matinees, the first time I went to the stage door, it was a Wednesday matinee. Denzel came out and shook hands, but Viola did not come out. (Actually, Mykelti Williamson and the little girl were the only actors I saw besides Denzel.) The stage door guy said earlier that he wasn't sure if Viola was coming out or not, which made it sound like she does sometimes.

If anyone was planning on heading out to this line, I would advise you to go to sleep. If anyone on the front of that line is planning on getting 1 ticket, if you bought 2 I would pay for both our tix. i know its a long shot but its worth asking. =/
