Bought tickets for one more performance (damn, tickets really shot up!). I haven’t stage-doored in years, but considering it for this. Does the company come out and, if so, do they sign in between matinee performances?

If all this is true, I’m very reluctant to donate to the organization going forward without more transparency to the model. Yes, they can sell however they like to raise the most money (as they should as a not-for-profit), but transparency should be key here.
I'd be completely fine if they disclosed this event was happening but is already sold-out to high raising donors: at least that would be direct and honest. But to maintain the farce that tickets would be avai

..and once those seats are released they can just sit there. Especially if it is a single seat. So the seat in question was still available. Play Esq., as a member of the public, went to get a ticket and was sold a seat marked as a House Seat, that was most likely released, and maybe not released yet, for a lower price. Why? For the sake of accuracy, you did not get a "house seat". What you got was a seat in a location that was good enough to be used as a "house seat" if necessary. House seats are industry perqs and are released for sale to the public (if they arenot requested by the company or other industry)on a set schedule --which can be anywhere from 98 hours prior to the performance up to 2 hours.

Restating my previous statement, went to the Two Strangers BO and got a house seat for 109 bucks. Never hurts to be polite.
Going to Betty’s point: I generally go in with a price range and ask nicely what’s the best they can do; I suppose it obviates the cheap/squeak issue.

Pretty seamless process and the ticket page is very manageable. Purchased four tickets for 230 each after fees orchestra left aisle just before opening. it appears that prices range from 110 to just under 600.

You could use any of those barometers to show this is one of the biggest hit they’ve ever had: not in the future, but now. The last time I remember Roundabout having a moment like this was the Pajama Game: almost impossible to get into without a 3k donation, even then!
