What a fantastic production to wish goodbye to an iconic space.
Seeing Festen on Broadway a few years ago, and having read many of the London reviews, I couldn't help feeling as though this *could* be an exciting play. Sadly, like many, I was left cold by the New York transfer.
TR Warszawa's Festen is something of an event: the presentation of a remarkable, rarely seen in the US, company (in much better form here than their Macbeth...) in a truly haunting play. I simply loved this subtle, basic, and elegant production. The ensemble is simply one of the best to be seen in New York this season.
I was curious to hear opinions of others on this board who had a chance to witness this fantastic production. I would especially be curious to hear opinions from those who saw both the West End and Broadway production.
