Fiddler/Bright Star Questions

My family (my mom and two teenagers) will be in NYC next week.

My mom seems interested in Fiddler and we teens are wanting to see Bright Star (we love the score).

What are the cheapest/easiest ways to get tickets to both?

If Fiddler is 50% off at Tkts would that be $17.50 for the Rear Mezzanine? How busy is the rush (what time should we get there?) and where are seats for that normally?

For Bright Star, how quickly would rush run out and where are the seats there? How cheap can you get tickets at Tkts?

For some reason I thought 50% off meant 50% any ticket anywhere in the theater.

Yeah, there's definitely a Bright Star rush thread on the board somewhere, but the problem is that their rush has been changing a lot since the Tony noms came out. I know a few people have been saying they've been getting assigned box seats for rush (which should be a pretty decent view), but both of the times I've rushed (including just this morning), I've gotten orchestra row D on the extreme sides. It's a pretty nice view of the actors' faces, which is cool for this show, but of course not necessarily the best view of the overall stage picture. But for $30 per ticket, it's a damn good deal and you really don't miss much of the staging.



I also think they said something about offering a digital lottery now too, in addition to the usual rush policy?

TKTS gives you 50% of the best available the have. In almost all cases that is 50% of the top price (so usually $75-80 +plus TKTS fee), but I once got a side mezz seat for like $60 + fees because apparently all top price tickets were already sold.

If you don't want to spend that much discount codes are a better option. You can print them out and buy tickets at the box office with them, so you save the fees. That's what I did for Fiddler for a Rear Mezz ticket, I think I paid around $50. I wouldn't necessarily recommend those seats though, the Broadway Theatre is huge and I felt lightyears away from the stage.

But I think Fiddler does have a rush, it's probably easier now than it was during the Christmas holidays! And you shouldn't have a problem if you get there in the morning.



As far as Bright Star goes, I sat in the side-view rush seats twice and felt like I had a great view and didn't miss a thing. But the Cort is small and I'm sure the Mezz view is good too.

It's for $89 orchestra/front mezz, $69 select orch/mezz, and $39 balcony.

Bright Star is on Goldstar most of the time as well as TDF for $49 and $47(random seats all over the theatre). Not sure about Fiddler.
