Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

Don't know if this should be off-topic or not but on Gilmore Girls tonight they had a Community production of Fiddler On the Roof. I only caught a snippet of it (Idol was on at the same time) but it looked pretty funny. Tevye was played by a grown man and Golde was played by like an eleven year old. Anyone else see it?

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

I'm a huge fan of the show and I must say that it was one of the most bizarre episodes I've ever seen. That little girl singing Golde was some little Broadway Annie Wannabee - she belted that song out like it has never been sung before - I was laughing my ass off.
And - why have they sexed-up Rory so much? I know it's natural for people to go through that phase - but she's dressing like a hooker lately...it doesn't seem to fit her personality as laid out in the early years of the show. I DO think she looked best in the episode a couple weeks ago with the renewal of the vows of Richard and Emily - Rory as the "best man" in that suit and her hair up like that - she was so beautiful that she reminded me of a renaissance painting...
I love Gilmore Girls!

arent there millions of refrences to 'Music Theatre' on that show? Like the time Adam Wylie was on. They made light of him in 'Into the Woods'.

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

They're trying to turn the Rory parts of the show into (insert the name of idiot interchangable WB show here), which is really annoying because she started out as a bit of a geek.

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

I was lucky to watch both Gilmore Girls and American Idol last night thanks to 2 stations in my area showing Gilmore at both 8 and 10pm. :) Anyways, I thoght it was so cute seeing those kids putting on Fiddler. Plus Kirk being the "method actor" he is wa ssoo funny cause there are so many actors out there like that. Plus it was the perfect musical to use for what he episode was about. Bravo to Gilmore Girls!

I felt so sorry for Naked Boy!

I also liked the following exchange:

"You look so hot when you're annoyed at me."

"Well then I must seem like Giselle freakin' Bundchen 24/7!"

Why did they waste the chance to have Luke rip his shirts off in frustration as he was building the set?

never watch this show, but like the "Luke" actor (if he's the Marlboro Man who dates the mom off and on). She's also very funny (the mom). Why can't i remember these actor's names?!?!?!

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

Their names are good to know - but even more important - start watching the show on a regular basis - it has some of the funniest and most touching plotlines I've seen and such great writing and acting over all - totally worth plunking down in front of the tv on Tuesday nights!

TxTwoStep... the "Marlboro Man" is Luke, and Rory's mom is Lorelai. They only just started seriously dating this season.

I agree with redhotinnyc2 -- this is a great show. Because I live across the pond, I've had a family member tape the show for me from the beginning. Haven't missed an episode yet! re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

The whole "Do You Love Me" scene killed me - that kid was hysterical, but weirdly moving at the same time. Lauren Graham acted that scene beautifully - completely broke my heart.

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

This is seriously one of the best shows on TV...although the whole Rory-as-slut thing is starting to bother me, too. But that "Fiddler" production CRACKED ME UP!! We did "Fiddler" at my school last year, and I was Golde, so I was rolling on the floor. And Kirk doing it was just HYSTERICAL...I loved when he had Luke "fix" his cart!!

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

Lorelei is Lauren somebody, right? lotsa guest roles (notably on NEWSRADIO) previously, some movie roles, right?

What about Luke? what is that actor's name? he's very attractive.

Luke is played by Scott Patterson - wasn't he Elaine's sponge-worthy guy on Seinfeld?

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

I think so (re Seinfeld) He was definitely the guy that Grace bought the water bra for on "Will & Grace"!!

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

gilmore girls is by far my favorite show on television...the world stops at 8 on tuesdays! :) or whenever i get back to watch it taped if i have to miss it

omg the whole fiddler thing was so hilarious - i was sitting alone in my room literally doubled over laughing, espeically when the little ten year old was singing about how she's been married to this man for 25 years during "do you love me"; tradition killed me as well

re: Fiddler on Gilmore Girls

Lorelai is Lauren Graham. She was a guest star in a three-part Law and Order which first aired I think in 1999. It was the story of the film director who killed his ex-wife by cutting off her head. Ms. Graham played someone who worked at the studio who was attracted to Benjamin Bratt's character. Scott Cohen played the murderous director. Several years later, Cohen and Ms. Graham worked together again on GG, when he played her love interest (and Rory's English teacher) Max Medina.
