I don't agree that LaChiusa is like Sondheim. I think most of what he writes is pretty forgettable.
I love Sondheim and my tastes are pretty broad. I also like Schwartz, Wildhorn (even Lloyd Webber) and many others. But LaChiusa leaves me totally cold.
Getting back to the original thread about the new "Fiddler" - I think "Fiddler" is a great show but I have not yet heard or seen this production. I'm looking forward to seeing it on my next trip to New York in August.
