I just saw Fiddler on the Roof at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia on Thursday night. It was amazing! This is the best production of Fiddler that I have ever seen, and I have seen many. This production has heart and a true sense of reality. Tony nominee Mark Jacoby takes a well known and loved character, that is closely associated with other actors, and truly makes it his own. Mark Jacoby IS Tevye, and leads a very talented and enthusiastic cast in welcoming the audience to their "little village." I felt like I was seeing Fiddler on the Roof for the very first time. The acting, choreography, set design, blocking, lighting, costumes and direction are all outstanding!!! It is apparent that a lot of thought was put into making this production special and "original." If any of you live close enough to see Fiddler on the Roof at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, make sure that you go see it. Congrats to the cast and crew for a great production!

I miss the Walnut Street. I took classes there back in the 80's.
Just saw the "Fiddler.." tour in Denver with Fierstein and really enjoyed it. My first time seeing it onstage.
