American Conservatory Theatre's youth program is presenting the World Premiere of Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting.
"Following the Young Conservatory's acclaimed explorations of contemporary composers John Lennon & Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell, a new theatrical presentation pays tribute to Sting, Grammy Award–winning icon and founder of The Police. An emotional and evocative search for self-fulfillment set in the American heartland, Fields of Gold: The Music of Sting tells the story of two groups of teens striving for self-expression and understanding from each other and their elders. Fields of Gold features more than a dozen classic Sting hits, performed by a company of teens backed by musicians from The Bird School of Rock."
You know it's gotten bad when a theatre program has integrated the jukebox musical into their training curriculum. *sigh*
