Fierstein to Bring Chayefsky's "Catered Affair" to Broadway

Harvey Fierstein will bring a musical version of Paddy Chayefsky's "The Catered Affair" to Broadway next season. With music by John Bucchino and direction by John Doyle (no actor/musicians this time), Harvey will play the gay uncle.

Isn't Mr. Doyle the busy little bee? He is also directing PETER GRIMES at the MET and (I think) a couple of things in the UK at the same time.

Oooh, this probably means we'll get to see Doyle direct a musical without "the concept." I can't wait to see his other work. After these past two seasons, I'd gladly see anything he does.

John Bucchino's Broadway debut is certainly something to look forward to.

I'd prefer a different director but I trust Fierstein and Bucchino's choice.

Should be great.
