I finally got to see the movie and was amazed. I expected to le disappointed but it was awesome! Liked it even better than the movie version of Chicago.
I have a live performance of Anthony Warlow and he sounds like hugh Jackman - but better....it's the Australian accent and the way he says/sings some sounds...
I very much liked PHANTOM, and am glad that jackson did to. You never want to wish that someone hates a movie because you hated it. You want them to have a great time and I'm glad that jackson did. In response to J&H movie Wildhornfanatic: are YOU serious?
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
Congrats, it's great to find another POTO movie fan!
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
Aww because we posted together Gerry and Emmy are right near each other....aww. I was thinking that that thread must have died. I'm all for bringing it back. And it's 51 days till the DVD comes out(yaay Zeppie you're back to updating your profile)

I didn't feel the guy screamed at all. The only people I really didn't care for were the two opera owners. I also didn't like what they did staging wise with Prima Donna. The cemetary scene was interesting. Tho I did miss the egging on between Raoul and the Phantom.
I wasn't really happy with the changes to the script (room of mirrors, sword fight etc) but i thought emmy sang pretty well. True phantom fan & always will b. Butler did pretty well 4 a rock singer. And where waz minnie driver's accent from??? Also, the masking effects weren't that good. It's better in the theater. I guess since it's more dramatic in theater u imagine it worse. But in the movie smtmes the mask kinda slipped and showed you normal parts of his face. Then they took off the mask, and the deformity spread way more than the mask covered. Can't wait for the dvd though, wasn't there a phantom movie in the '60's or smthng?
I am another fan of the film. I, for one, did not think that Rossum was good at all. Her acting was stiff, and her singing was... not opera, to say the least.
Butler, on the other hand, surpassed my expectations. I didn't like him on the CD, but I saw the movie, and he was excellent. His voice grew on me. Minnie Driver stole the film from everyone else.
Yes, they are making a JEKYLL & HYDE movie. Wildhorn talks freely about this. Hugh Jackman is up for the lead, but they're also very interested in Anthony Warlow. I would love for Anthony to get the role, but who knows if he'll accept. I assure you this information is true. That's why they call me a Wildhorn Fanatic!
