After weeks of trying to get the perfect seats, we bought tickets and today got an email that the show was cancelled. I quickly checked (thinking the whole show) and found that it's only the 730 performance on 12/9. Anyone know why?

According to TicketMaster, beginning in November they are canceling all Wednesday evening performances and adding Sunday evenings.

^ That schedule makes sense for a show with a family heavy audience like this. They will probably get more business on Sunday evenings than they did on Wednesday now that schools are back on.

Matilda actually got rid of their Wed matinees and added an extra early eve on Sunday. In the spring you get school groups, but at this time of year, no one is seeing Matilda during the school day.....
This is the second year they have done this and I guess it worked last year- since they are doing it again.
It must be tough on the actors/musicians/tech etc..they lose part of their "weekend".
