Fiorello! Off-Broadway

I just found out about this tonight while listening to the radio, that Fiorello! is coming to New York in a few weeks (starting September 4th, official opening September 9th) for the first time since its original Broadway run, at the East 13th St. Theater. 

I recently got into musicals and Broadway from listening to a whole bunch of cast recordings, and the OBC to Fiorello! was one of my favorites, so this is great news. I hope it has a good run. Is anyone else happy about this?

I hope to catch it as well! I had wanted to make the trip up to the Berkshires to see it actually, and it was sold out for the only dates I could go. I'm happy to be getting a second chance.

You've made me curious. I just downloaded the OBCR from Apple Music. I wonder if anyone...or most...will be able to relate to it today. I never bothered with it as I thought it would be so "of its time"... Looking forward to finally listening to it later tonight.

MichelleCraig - from what they were talking about on Seth Speaks tonight and from what I've read, the reason they're now reviving it is that with the election year, and especially in the current political climate, they think there will be a receptive audience for a show about a politician who actually fought for positive change. Though they did acknowledge that it's not always as simple as "Shows about politics will do well in a election year". 

I don't know enough about the industry to know whether the announced cast is good, but they're mentioned in this article. I did like the songs they performed live on Seth Speaks at least.
