First Calls?

In a recent cast video blog on the Hair website, 2 cast members go over the daily schedule which includes choreo, music, fittings, etc. Then they mention something about "first calls" (which are listed at the bottom of the schedule). Does anyone know what this means? I have never heard this term before!

Well...

I'm sure you know what a "Call Time" is.

So I assume it means whoever has the "First Call" is the earliest person to arrive (for Call..)

If a show has a crazy rehearsal schedule filled with dance and fittings and possibly press, it is courteous to list the "first calls" for all of the actors on the schedule. Meaning, by actor's name when each of their "first call" is for the day. then they don't have to sift through the entire schedule looking for their name...it also prevents excuses for "i didn't see that because it was buried in the schedule".
