I saw the show more times than I care to admit, and I figured that others might want to know that the recording is available digitally now. A new LaChiusa score is always something to celebrate.

The recording is phenomenal - basically the entire show was recorded, dialogue included. The most cuts were in the "Patti By the Pool" section, but a lot of the running time was pauses. The recording sounds great and the orchestrations really come out here - I know I saw the show many times at the theatre and to hear the orchestra that clearly was great. The only thing that plays different then when I saw it is in "Mother Likes to Dance" when Alison Fraiser sings the "you want to know how deep the ocean is?" section. She takes it a little slower and sings it more in her voice than in the theatre. But I think that was a good choice for the recording. It really is great.

So excited for this new recording. Sadly I won't get it on CD until April.

I pre-ordered the CD and am loving what I get to hear on Spotify today. I saw this twice, and it was probably my favorite thing I saw in 2015.
The album sounds SO GOOD. It's miraculous. The gentle reverb, the smooth vocals, and fantastic orchestrations make this a must-own.
I am SO bummed that my favorite moments from the show, "Daddy's Mind," "Iran," "Patti by The Pool" and "No Tears" are not on Spotify and are Album Only on iTunes. If I hadn't dropped $15 on the physical CD, which I wont get for another month, I'd buy the $18 digital version on iTunes in a heartbeat.

No Spotify here, just what was on youtube, and since I want this on CD and have pre-ordered I'll wait. But it's excruciating.

The recording is available to stream on Apple Music. I'm LOVING this so far. Just finished the (23 minute) Patti Davis/Nancy Reagan track.
This is quickly becoming my favorite LaChiusa score behind HELLO AGAIN. Haunting, dramatic, and often times laugh out loud funny. Brilliantly produced recording.
