Agree, Snafu.
And not to diss any of the other Pippins, but not sure "acting" is a trait that is needed in the role. Like someone said about Fosse, he just wants you to have a blank face the whole time.
I saw Billy Tighe and he's super cute, but he was flat and really bland. So.... not sure what requirements are expected.

Saw him last night,
Overall he was good. Only his 3rd show, so he'll get more comfortable with the role as he goes on. He did look a little old though for Pippin, which is what I thought would happen when I saw he was assuming the position.

Needing to be " hot" hardly seems to be a prerequisite for playing Pippin. I saw the original production and thought John Rubenstein could be thought of as sweet and attractive for that reason. If he was shirtless at the show's ending I don't remember that. But then "hotness" is such a subjective thing and certainly a shallow requirement for the part.
Did Kaufman do the shirtless scenes?
Again, being hot isn't a perquisite to play Pippin, but it sure don't hoit!!!
