How bad are these seats?? Has anyone noticed if the stage is far enough back from the front row at this theater? My Mom got the tickets and thought she got great seats~ I just want to prepare my neck~
Sue
First row at the Imperial is great. The stage is just the right height so you don't have to crane your neck much, if at all, to see.
i would want to be where the usher sings. i love that!!

That's where I was when I saw it. Front row is fine. It's mean that they took it off the lottery.
In all seriousness, The Usherette is one of my dream roles. Cathy, The Baker's Wife, and The Usherette.
ABSOLUTELY. FAN. TAS. TIC. I sat 2nd row and it was out of this world! With this cast, you want to be close to see their faces! You're gonna have a blast!
... plus... closer to Norbert's left buttcheek.

I was in AA101, right next to the singing usher. She scared me at first!
The front row is great, you'll have a perfect view. Enjoy the show!
i saw it @ first row during preview. you can see EVERYTHING.
mind you, the actors can also see you. and me being so innocent and expresive, i actually stopped norbert leo butz from touching himself in that one scene he does that in, which was embarassing cause i broke his concentration.
similar story with kiss me kate. the cast came out and insisted we take pictures with them, they practically wanted our autographs. that's how i found out there was such thing as a stage door. jejeje still, EMBARASSING - i should really just take a hint.
other than that, go for it.
o and sometimes the actors will get the chance to spit/sweat on you, depending on the show. but if you're a bway freak, chances are you won't mind it one bit ;P
how come they took it off the lottery?

The height of the Imperial Theatre's stage is just right. In the time of THE BOY FROM OZ, Row AA center seats were the most coveted on Broadway
The actors can see your uplifted faces, from their vantage point
i saw it front row (not center) and was actually a little uncomfortable at how often i caught the eye of an actor or dancer. great seats though...and boy can Lithgow spit! :)
I've been on all sides of the front row, including center. They are ALL great seats (especially for people like me who want to see the actors faces) You can see the whole stage and really appreciate the great job this ensemble does.

Wow J.L. spit sooo damn much, and at the time had some greasy vaseline-esque type substance under his nose, so Im guessing back in april, I saw him when he wasnt feeling so well. What a view!
It also didnt hurt that me and my friend sat RIGHT next to the singing usherette and were able to see fake drs playbills she had. She didnt even have a real bundle of playbills, they were fake hard ones. And its always nice to almost get kicked in the face by sherie, she can kick me any day she wants
