I finally saw Rent for the first time last night and I LOVED IT. I know Drew isn't widely enjoyed, but as a newcomer I thought he did a great job...he was fun to watch. LOVEEEEE Jeremy. Heard him on the Footloose cast recording and I loved his voice...so strange to see him as Roger after picturing him as Ren for so long, heh. He was amazing...One Song Glory had me in awe. Gorgeous. Got to take a pic with D & J at the end, for the broadway charity thing...it was either spend my $$ on a picture or a tshirt and I chose the picture :) Hehe. Krystal was a good Mimi (I think i was just relieved to not have scary spice)...and I loveddd Philip McAdoo's Collins. He has a gorgeous voice.
Overall I lovedddd the show I'm so glad I got to see it finally.
Oh, and Nick Lachey was outside the theater before the show so I'm assuming he was there watching? It was cool.
Oh I love Rent too. Glad you had a great time!

i have not gotten a chance to see rent yet, but i am dying to! my cuzin is going to see it december 30 so i am really mad at her. i might go see it on my birthday (my birthday is on leap year so it isnt really, but oh well!). when i was in new york to see the radio city christmas show, me and my friends passed the nederlander theatre and i couldnt pass up a chance to actually see the inside! when i walked in, i felt like i was in heaven. my mom asked the guy at the window what the agegroup is (i am only in jr. high) and he said 11. i thought in my head: "ya right!". anyway, the guy offered me the last playbill and i had to take it. i framed it and put it in my room next to my chicago one! i am sooo excited! do you guys think i should be able to see it? i own the cd and my moms knows i know all the material in it. oh well. i hope o will be able to see the movie with my renthead cuz...

You mean for Rent? They have a signed script, a signed playbill, a chance to watch rent sitting in the "chair of love" in the wings (plus meet the cast, obviously), a Rent jacket with your name on it, a signed rent book, a signed rent robe, a backstage tour, and a chance to be in the Rent life support scene with 4 tickets.
I was happy to pay to take a picture with Drew and Jeremy LOL

They sold posters (newer versions I guess), polaroids with Drew and Jeremy, and had a silent auction for various items.

What did you think of Merle and Kelly?? (Joanna and Maureen) they made the show for me when I saw it again a few weeks ago... i was beyond impressed, they were great.
I am supposed to see Rent tomorrow - does anyone know what time the matinee will begin and end? I need to figure out my transportation! Thank you!

ummm... you rticket should have the curtain time. matinees are usually at 2pm. rent runs about 2 hours and 45 minutes
its such an amazing show I love it so much glad you had a great time! who doesnt love jeremy? throwing that table the way he does who wouldnt?
I'm going with school, so I don't have the actual ticket. So I'm assuming the show, all and done, will be over at 5 - I'm thinking it is almost impossible to get back to Philadelphia by 6...

ummm.. I don't love jeremy. his little brother serge made for a dynamic and enjoyable link larkin in hairspray and jeremy was good in footloose, but i am not big on his performance in rent.
bwguy2 who else have you seen as roger? just curious not being defensive of jeremy or anything just wanted to see who else you have seen

glad you had fun! :)
I myself have never seen it yet... The reason? I have no car, and my mother has no intention of ever seeing the show.
But my theatre arts class is begging my teacher to get us tickets to see Rent (she's taking us to a show sometime in the spring, and she asked us for ideas). And hopefully this summer my sister will take me (she's seen it twice with her friends... so not fair)
Anyway, again, glad ya had a great time!

Kelly was adorable...I really liked her.
I guess Merle was good, I dont like the Joanne character, that's why lol.
I'm a big Idina fan so everytime I saw Maureen I was like wow Idina did this back in the day LOL. But I really enjoyed Kelly's performance.
Very impressed with how Justin Johnston danced around in those heels. When he leaped onto the table everyone was like: WOAH.
