Just saw it tonight & I hope the actors have a new job lined up fast
On a Saturday Night, even with TDF discounts, the house was barely 1/2 full. The writing is amatuerish.
There are 3 sections. The first deals with a woman(Gillette) whose husband is sick & Jamie Farr who lives in the condo & has the hots for her
The second (best & shortest of them) deal with Farr & Gilette as husband & wife. She is suffering from Alzheimers & Farr is waiting to have her picked up to go to a home. It is serious.
The last, involving flatulence jokes & borscht belt humor involves Farr as an 85 year old man who has a fling with a prostitute(Gillette).Farr's daughter & son in law come down & all she wants is his money. The rest of the cast tries hard but they all rise above the material
Farr shows his age but Gillette looks remarkably good.
Better luck next time as this may not make it out of previews which would be merciful. The critics would absolutely destroy it. The play is better suited for regional areas & tours possibly but no way near Broadway or off.

I saw Flamingo Court Friday evening, and it was dreadful. If you want to see this show, go soon.
That third act, which revolved around Jamie Farr farting in a closet to upset his daughter...and Anita Gillette playing a hooker and wearing gold lame tights and a hot pink shirt with her tits hanging out...I couldn't believe what I was watching. Terrible.
I love Anita Gillette so much and I am shocked that she would return to the stage with this show.

I agree that Elvis People was absolutely horrible.
But the descriptions below sound like a show I'd really like - I always loved the crudeness on "Married with Children". And I was laughing hysterically throughout the humor of Jackie Mason at New World Stages. (I don't like shows like "39 Steps" or "Marriage of Bette & Boo" but I do love "sarcastic" comedy like "Married with Children" or Jackie Mason - so do you think I'd like this show?) Or should I save my money and time?

Carolyn Rossi Copeland, the Executive Producer, should know better. And to add insult to injury, they are charging $72.00 for this thing. Sheesh.
Put back the $2.00 6-plex movie theaters there, that we used to LOVE!!

Agreed! They took those away like, right after I moved to the city. And for WHAT? Waste of space.
This is on par with Moose Murders
This makes Married With Children look like Masterpiece Theater. It is the GWTW of bad shows.

On a different note...
Does anyone know if Jamie and Anita come out the front or back doors of New World? I know that, depending on which theatre a show is in, there are two "stage doors" downstairs (one by the front, one in the back.)
I was just wondering which door they might use on the outside as I attempted to wait for them in front of the theatre on Saturday night and never saw them come out (I did see the two other actors from the show come out, as well as Jackit Mason).
Thanks for any info.
I swear the people who do the programming at New World must be mentally retarded. Seriously, they need their heads examined.

If nothing else, I did love Great American Trailer Park the Musical and Pieces of Ass. Both of which ran (all too briefly) at this theatre.

Hey, EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL played at New World Stages. I loved the show and saw it three times during its berief run!
