Hate to tell you but he is right. It could have been said more diplomatically however

Drowsy Chaperone recouped in less than seven months so not exactly a flop.

"Love Never Dies" may have recouped, too, with the successful Australian run and the video sales.

I haven't heard the score for "Rebecca," although I've read many praises. The show has to count as a U.S. flop, so far, since it can't even manage to open on Broadway.

As far as the "guard a bridge" comment, I don't think that accidentally starting a duplicate thread on a topic that hasn't been discussed in months qualifies someone as a troll.

I personally didn't think much of the Chaplin score although I liked the show. I have always liked the score from Chess. One other is Gigi. The movie was a huge success but not Broadway.

Rebecca has been a hit everywhere it has opened. So it's no flop, but it does have a great score.
Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?

My favorite recent one is "Bonnie & Clyde." Got to see a local production, very good show and lives up to its great cast recording. "Catch Me If You Can" is also great and very good on stage. Saw the national tour twice. And "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" is a very fun score. But, have not seen it.

No idea why the first two failed. And with all the stars in the cast of WOTVOANB, you would have thought it would last much longer than it did even with a weak book.

Was Grand Hotel a flop? 12 tony nominations. 1017 performances.
