Flowers for Mrs. Harris

This Chichester (UK) production is available for free streaming through May 8.  While supposedly an "archive" filming, it is more than that, as there are multiple camera angles, close-ups and editing. 

We found Act One a bit of a slog - to the point where we considered not going on to Act Two,. That would have been a mistake. Act Two is simply joyous and alive especially in contract to the doldrums of Act One. The actors in Act One (except for Claire Burt as Mrs. Harris) take on different roles in Act Two, but those characters are - for the most part - thematically related to their Act One roles. And when the show is over, you may feel uplifted and may need a tissue or two or three.

The show is mostly sung -through. But, very few "songs".  If you don't like the Sunday in the Park or Passion Sondheim, you are unlikely to like this production.  Another note: the set is minimal - relying heavily on a revolve and some small set suggestions, or acing suggestions.
