Someone gave me a copy of the Footloose Cast Recording as a present.
I listened to the first three and half tracks, put it away, and haven't touched it since.
The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

I personally prefer the show to the movie. I hated the movie. It was dreadful. I saw my school's production of the musical a few years ago and loved it. To each their own though. It's by no means excellent, but it's fun.
For the record, I do not own the recording.

Posted: 12/23/04 at 1:43pmi actually find footloose highly amusing and enjoy the cast recording. if you go in looking to take away the same thing you'd take away from les miz, you will be disappointed. it's a shallow show, but it's fun. and with the right cast, it's a hoot... not to mention the way some of those girls (Anika Noni Rose) can rip into Let's Hear It For The Boy.

...Al Dente, snobbery doesn't become you. Just because some of us like a show for it's entertainment value, doesn't mean we haven't seen or appreciated Evita or Company or whathaveyou. I think Footloose is a fun show. I love a lot of the songs. That doesn't make me any less of a valid theatre fan.
...I don't think.
And I ahted the movie as well. Ugh, Kevin Bacon.
