If you pick up a copy of the New York Daily News today, there's a special offer for 'The Pirate Queen'; all seats, from May 22-June 3 (exempting Sat. nights), will go for $35 apiece. The special code is in a full-page ad in the entertainment section.
hi,
I am going to NY on May11-13. Can someone be kind enough to send me this ad so I can buy a ticket of PQ when I visited city?
I can send you the evelop with address and postage.
Thanks a lot.
And in spite of this, they will not sell student rate tickets for Saturday night. Go figure. I really wanted to see it tonight. *pouts*
Oops. Just read the "excepting Saturday nights" thing. I guess that's the ONE night they're selling out?
Is the ad itself required to purchase the discounted tickets, or is it just a matter of mentioning the code or entering it on Ticketmaster? (If so, does anyone know what that code is?)
for those of us who don't have access to New York Daily News...can you please share the code with us or pm me :P please! Thnx.
Can someone *please* PM the code to me too?
Why all the PMing? If they took out an ad so post it on the boards and spread the word! I would like to know the code as well.
I don't know if this helps, but I searched on TravelZoo.com and found a 70% off code for PQ:
PQUEEN
I am not finding any tickets for weekend matinees.

Any other published PQ discounts that are aavailable for Sundays?

Tech, can it last until August? I hope to be in NY!
brdlwyr, do you mean the discount offer or the show itself?
I think PQ will run at least through the fall. If it builds an audience over the summer it could keep going for a lot longer. Ticket sales for the next few weeks will be critical. As long as there's not a severe drop in grosses in the near future, Young Frankenstein won't be able to take over the Hilton and Grace O'Malley might reign for quite some time.
If PQ is still running in August, there will most likely still be nice discounts available for non weekend performances.
Could someone PLEASE PM me the code?
I don't want to make this a sob story, but I really need it. I'm getting my mom tickets for Mother's Day, and the $35 discount tickets are all I can afford.
Is the ad still running today?

so wait- do they not sell student rush tickets for Saturday nights? because i was planning to get rush tickets for this upcoming Saturday night
I was informed yesterday "We *never* have student tickets for a" (insert insulted gasp/grunt here) "Saturday night." I had just done the Revlon Walk and was kind of gross, so I didn't ask about matinee.
Guess what was on TKTS last night though. Mmmhmm. PQ.
I thought they had student rush tickets for every show. Are there really none for saturday night because i have to know then now.
What I said is what the guy in the box office told me. Not that they were sold out of them, that they never have them for Saturday night. I guess you can call the theatre and ask, but I'd say no, they don't have them for Saturday night.
The code is "PQUEEN" (as someone had mentioned)
not sure about all of the secrecy....
wow, thanks so much for the info, jordangirl
because i was supposed to get tickets for the night show this Saturday for my friend and i, but now that they dont do student rush for Saturday night, ill have to see if she can make it to the matinee
wow, that really sucks! i hope the matinee will work out for us.
thanks again
You're welcome! I was shocked too. I just politely said "Thanks anyway" and left, not wanting to press the issue. I figure I've got some free nights coming up during their PQUEEN special, so I'll probably get something then.
Just a heads-up, because a co-worker showed me the ad from the Daily News---- there are dates (May 18th, for example)
that are not on the list of dates that the discount IS available-

The special code in the Friday Daily News was: DNEWS.
I went to PQ box office yesterday (May 12) and mentioned code "PQueen". They don't sell ticket for Saturday and Sunday. It seems the code is for weekend based on avaliablility.
