NON SINGING Means for a person who talks sings Rex Harrison "My Fair Lady" Can Your Imagine Josh Grobin playing the role.
Carol Channing "Hello, Dolly" That was a big problem with the movie besides the age Barbra sings too well.

Hepburn in "COCO" One show I saw that NO ONE else could have done better with that voice. An event to last the rest of your life and I saw it on tour in Chicago.
That is when stars went with the shows.

Hello, Dolly! was my first play I ever saw at the age of 14 in Chicago.
Carol Channing had just left and Eve Arden took over. Again another non-singer and she was great.

I still remember they had a photo of Eve getting off the train in Chicago with roses saying "Dolly Arrives". It hooked me to theater forever!!!!!!!!

That's one of the great things about this board: getting to hear from people who saw shows and performers we can only imagine through recordings, photos, and the occasional Ed Sullivan clip.

I'm always grateful to everyone who shares their knowledge and their memories.
