I'd love to hear any other thoughts on iWork vs. Word for Mac. I'm gearing up to make the switch from PC to Mac in a few weeks, and this is the one thing I just have no clue about. After a visit from the Apple store today and a lovely chat with a specialist, I was pretty sold on iWork. Then I came home and started reading reviews and am just as confused as I was before. I'm mostly concerned about compatibility - specifically with Pages. I need to be able to easily open Word documents and send documents out to people using Word. Does that usually cause problems? A lot of the reviews noted that you can open Word documents but that involves saving them as .pages, hence renaming, shuffling around, and a general pain in the butt. Any thoughts? The price alone of iWork is tempting enough, but I really want the easiest and most reliable program.

I recognize the addiction to being alive.

Office files are converted into Pages or Numbers files, so they don't always come out the same as they would on Microsoft Office. This is necessary if you receive and work on Excel files.

It's worth the $79, although I didn't pay nearly that much.

How did you manage to save money? Thanks for the advice!
