....there still is hope! It was up on TKTS today. Why anyone would want to see it boggles my mind....
How the mighty have fallen?
Still have no desire to see it
That is pretty funny. Tourists are paying hundreds of dollars on ebay, and it's up at TKTS. Ahh, love this city.
There is justice int he world after all

There's also a discount code floating around for all of April's weekday performances.
That's crazy! Maybe now they'll fulfill their promise on those past-dated tickets.

Whether you like this show or not I would not say "how the mighty have fallen". The show has made a ton of money for the creative team and pulled a lot of money into NYC for its coffers.
There are Wed and Thurs tickets available at a discount for the final two months of the run. If you like Neil Simon and you like the actors in the show, get a ticket and see it. But this show IS a period piece (the foundation and setting for what we now know as the American sitcom)...so perhaps it is a bit too innocent for some. Still, the writing is snappy and clever and Simon's book is a primer on tight comedic writing. It may not be the best thing ANYONE in this cast has ever done, but it is better than a lot of shows out there.
It made a ton of money because of the hype surrounding the Lane/Broderick pairing. It sold out its original run before anyone saw it and the reviews came out. They extended the run - but after the reviews of the show (not to mention the bomb that was the movie version of the Producers with Lane/Broderick) it's not coming close to selling out, and why should it.
Personally I like the play and Lane gave a good performance - but Broderick gave us his typical schtick and sucked big time. Is it worth half price - No - its not worth $5.
Well, personally, I loved it. In my opinion, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick were great in it, and I had a fun night at the theatre.
I saw the show 2 weeks after it opened and really, really enjoyed it. Yes, it's a dated play. But, you all ready know that coming into the theatre. You know it's not going to be Leo and Max. So, these bitter people that are posting saying that "THE MIGHTY HAS FALLEN" is a total and complete crock!
It had so much to live to.......practically selling out the first week tickets went on sale, the pressure of living up to Nathan and Matthew's success in "The Producers" when that first opened in 2001, etc.
Just because the film version of "The Producers" was not a box office success, doesn't mean that the movie wasn't good. I loved the movie! Thought it was fantastic! Had the film been a big box-office hit, all these bitter people, who think they know everything, and love to bash, would all say how great it is.
Sure, everyone's entitled to their opinion. You can just tell, that these negative posters have a different agenda.
Sad, but, true!
I have to say that I had a fun night at the theater too. I took it for what it was... a period piece. Yes, Matthew's nasal approach was annoying but it was alot of fun.
I also had a fun time at The Odd Couple. I had purchases the tickets so long ago that I pretty much had forgotten I had them. The hoopla about it being an "event" was a distant memory, so by the time I found myself sitting in the theater, I had no expectations. And that's probably the best way to see it, because I liked it considerably more than I expected to, given the lukewarm to tepid word of mouth. And it's so late in the game that feeling like I need to critique it seems somehow passé.
One could certainly do worse than to score a ticket to the show at TKTS prices.
Now that its up at TKTS I'll probobly see it. I wouldn't want to pay full price for it, but it'd be fun to see Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick live on B'way. I never got a chance to see them in The Producers
Yay- finally the fans are speaking out!
