Looks like the side of complacency and moral panic is too.

Wayman, did you actually sit through these videos? Did they cite anything?

I'm disappointed this is even a thread you thought worth posting.

I'm just angry she took it back. Trump supporters are garbageand I resent having to share a planet with a single one of them. (I used to say "human garbage," but I no longer consider them human. They're just garbage that by all rights should be rotting in a landfill.)

What do you mean ‘did they cite anything’? You’re implying that Wayman is posting the videos as if he is suggesting they are true. He is doing the exact opposite of that, he is posting them to highlight this frustrating injustice for Rachel because they are false.

And then we have a bunch of people whose main contribution to this thread appears to be trying to silence and suppress talking about this injustice. On a discussion board no less.

At this point, I am sick to death of people on this forum whose only contribution appears to be to try and attempt to control the speech of others. This is a discussion board. If your main contribution is to try and silence others, I would suggest you are not really contributing anything at all.

I haven’t heard a single convincing reason of why we should suppress speech about relevant issues? It can’t be about ‘oxygen’ because there is no logical argument as to why this thread would help fuel the fire so to speak and make it worse (willing to hear it if someone wants to struggle and stumble to argue how a tiny niche group of likely gays and women on this forum is going to make the problem worse when clearly the videos are already out of control with >100,000 views).

I think it’s more that this is an emotional reaction where there are some who personally feel the best way to deal with this is to ignore it, to pretend it doesn’t exist. Who emotionally feel they don’t even want to legitimise this kind of behaviour. Well, fine - why don’t you actually then just state that in a calm and rationale way instead of throwing your toys out of a pram attacking the individual who all has done is bring this issue to the attention of us. That perspective is a whole discussion in itself, which could have been had. Instead, we get thoughtless emotional grandstanding where it's currently a competition of who can apparently pretend to be the most outraged to legitimise the suppression of speech for shallow emotional pretences.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
