I saw it on Saturday for the first time.
It is hysterical.

The spoof of "Light in the Piazza" is soooooo hysterical! I laughed the entire time! The whole show is great! Dont ask... JUST GO SEE IT! You won't regret it!

It was so funny. It was my favourite part of the whole show!

It was definitely the highlight for me. I just wish it were recorded so I could hear it again but I'll just have to return to the show. Mr. Alessandrini, you kill me!

for those of us not in NYC, can you tell us about it, pretty please?

They had the hat fly across the stage on a very obvious string...

...and Fabrizio jumped up and down to catch it. Margaret called him Mr. Macacroni, lol. And there was something very obviously wrong with Clara. It was longer than most FB numbers, they spoofed both "statues and stories" and "say it somehow" with dialogue in between. The lyrics were so hilarious but I can't remember them b/c I was laughing so hard. At one point, Fabrizio pulls a can of hairspray out of his bag or pocket and does his hair up ala Link. I was DYING!

Clara was acting the way people act when they try to act like they have down syndrome, but really exaggerated. Did that make sense? and when Fabrizo takes the hat off of the obvious "chord" he has a hard time getting it off. haha I wish I remember more, I just laughed the ENTIRE time.

Oh, also they tell how clara was kicked by a horse and all of a sudden she starts "neighing" like a horse and I think they were feeding her hay, lol. haha

I wish I could see this, but considering the price that it is... I doubt I could afford it, especially when I could be seeing a Broadway show instead.

korenglish: If you get your ticket through TKTS it's like $27. The Piazza spoof is truly worth that price! You'll die when you see the spoof on Matt and the show. His Matt wig! lol
movie/jamie: They spoof alot of the current shows plus some big Broadway names. It's absolutely hilarious if you've seen all the shows/heard the songs being spoofed but it's still very funny if you haven't.

I thought the second best was when they made fun of Christina Applegate in Sweet Charity. I was laughing hyesterically during that. Even though I loved her in the show.

The Christina one was hysterical! If I was a fan of hers I'd be pissed though, lol. The Assassins has to be my second favorite. Not many people were laughing b/c I guess they hadn't seen Assassins but I was laughing my @$$ off!
But back to LITP. Damn, I wish I could remember the lyrics! I'm going to write Mr. Alessandrini and ask if he'll record it.

Nope, "Forbidden Broadway" has been playing for almost 25 years! It will probably never close, because it never gets old! It changes constantly! You could see it once, and go a week later and they could have new numbers! Gerard is always writing new stuff! It's great!!!
I agree with broadway betty... Assasins is one of my favorite numbers in the show. But alot of people don't get it, cuz it was a short run, and it closed a while ago...

For the current version of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY S.V.U. they have brought back some older numbers.
The show starts with the classic ANNIE scene, "I'm 30 years old tomorrow and I haven't worked since I played Annie..."
There's also BEAUTY & THE BEAST ("Beauty's Been Decreased"), SARAH BRIGHTMAN ("Time I Said Goodbye"), THE LION KING ("Circle of Mice"), BEBE NEUWIRTH & CHICAGO spoof which uses Chicago's song RAZZLE DAZZLE as music.
The new numbers were all fantastic!
CHRISTINA APPLEGATE & SWEET CHARITY number had me rolling on the floor with laughter! Megan Lewis was SO funny!!
THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA was great. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had already seen the show before I saw Forbidden Broadway. I saw TLITP a couple of days later.
Also I loved the CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG number! Hilarious.
The SPAMALOT scene was funny. I thought "what's going on???" when they just kept singing "The Song That Goes Like This" with the original lyrics!! After the first key change they went "Now this is very strange!" "The lyrics didn't change!" and the rest of the song was done with re-written lyrics.

Out of total curiosity - what was the spoof on Chitty?

Are they still doing the Harvey in Fiddler spoof? Can't wait to see what they do to Rosie!
Can't believe the show has already changed this much. I just saw not too long ago and there was no Piazza!

It changes every month or two.
I know. I saw it in May and then heard that they put in Piazza.
There are a few new numbers. I love the Charity number and the Piazza number.
I have seen the show so much and I never tire of it.
There is not one number in the show that I don't like now.
They removed the La Cage number.
Although there is a funny Goulet number which is quite cruel. (I loved Goulet in La Cage, that understudy does him so well)
Forbidden Broadway has been running 23 years.
Even if you miss half of the jokes it is still the best ticket in town. I have seen it 50 times, I know!
I don't think I love anything as much as FB.
Maybe my Mother, but it is a close call!

Wickeder will not leave. You should go. It is one of my favorite numbers. You missed Jenoweth, which is sad (Jenoweth was the best Chenoweth but Jeanne has really improved)
I call the number Defying Jenoweth.
It is a blast.
Jeanne has taken over for Jen Simard who left to do Dr Sex.
The show is not the same without her, but Jeanne is very good.
