Why did it seem out of place? It is one of my favorite numbers and it is in.

Posted: 8/9/05 at 10:28amThere was no assassins number and I dont remember any Chitty number. Or maybe there was. I try to block that show out of my head anyway possible.

Saw this show at the beginning of July. I don't think there was a Piazza spoof when I saw it but maybe I missed it, seeing as I was not informed of a change in the start time by Telecharge, so I missed the first 30 minutes. The box office would only offer me an exchange, which I did not take. Nonetheless, what I did see did not make me want to ever see it again. I got the jokes, I just found the talent lacking in some of the cast.

Posted: 8/9/05 at 10:46amI thought the talent was great. You might be talking about Musicals of Musicals, that show had a talentless cast. What do they do in the Assassins number, because I saw it Friday night and really dont remember any assassins. What song do they use?

Posted: 8/9/05 at 10:49amSorry you feel that way but most adore FB. It should be seen every 2 months to not miss any of the spoofs. There are a few on the cd that are no longer in the show and they are hilarious. La Cage Aw Full, I Am My Own Cast, 'Night Mother, and Bombay Wet Dreams are all incredibly funny but were gone when I saw it last month.

I see it every three months and would see it more if I had the time.
They change the show around all the time depending on the cast.

Nope, I am talking about Forbidden Broadway not Musical of Musicals. I know the difference, thanks.
Some of the songs were quite cute, but maybe I went on an off night- it was July 4. Coupled with the rudeness of the box office staff, it was a bad night. The one female was quite strong (played the role of Millie, and Idina in Wickeder).

Megan Lewis plays Millie and Idina, she's very talented. Sadly, I never got to see Jen Simnard but she cracks me up on the cd. Her Edie Falco is right on!
Every show has an off night, maybe you were there for theirs. Sorry if I'm hounding you about this, I don't know why I just can't accept that someone might not like FB. Forgive me.

It could be because it was Jeanne's first week.
She is great now.
Jen Simard, was the best. I'm sorry you missed her Betty!
Val, Christine Pedi, Donna English. All were faboo.

Yes THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW spoof "Let's Ruin Times Sqare Again" is there.
The CHITTY spoof had the song "Truly Scrumptuous" and the title song in it. The most hilarious part was that they had the car on stage too, not a toy car - but Megan Lewis dressed as the car Chitty!!! She had the steering wheen on the backside of her hat, headlights were her bra, the wheels were on both sides on her hips and of course the red-yellow Chitty 'wings' on her sleeves. In the end the lights on her bra went on!
EDIT: and they revamped the Hugh Jackman/Liza Minnelli scene (which is on the S.V.U. cd) after the Tony awards, it is first supposed to be a duet of "Somewhere" by Hugh and Arethe Franklin but AF never arrives - instead 'Harvey Fierstein' (=Ron Bohmer) in drag (Welcome to the 60's costume from Hairspray) walks on stage and they sing the duet in which 'Harvey' sings to 'Hugh' "There's a door for us! A closet door for us! Take my hand and you're half way out..." :)

Posted: 8/9/05 at 5:08pmI think you have to have an audience that "gets it" to really have a good time at FB. The very first time I saw it a few years ago, it was a Sunday, and the two rows worth of people were old and just didn't seem to like it. I went last night (for like the fifth time) and the main floor was full, and everybody seemed to love it. I'd seen most of the skits before (with the exception of the LITP number, and "Chitty" seemed vaguely familiar), but was laughing hysterically. I think the audience is a BIG factor on enjoying the show (though one can very easily enjoy the cast album on one's own).

Ahh!! I saw this show way way back in February with Jen. She and Megan were amazing and so nice after the show. The two guys seemed a little anxious to get out of there (not that I can blame them, though) but Jen and Meg were so sweet and my parents and I chatted with them for a few minutes.
I will *definately* try to see the show when I go to New York next week! We're seeing Charity Friday night, and then going to the TKTS booth Tuesday morning and try our luck. I'd really like to see FB again but my parents aren't keen on that since we saw it in February.
Still, I will try to persuade them! I really want to see the Sweet Charity parody. And the Hugh Jackman/Harvey Fierstein one sounds amazing!

Posted: 8/18/05 at 3:04pmI think it probably also helps, especially with a comedy, that you don't go in already in a foul mood because of a time mix-up. That might skewer your reaction to a show.
