This is what I want to see:
MAKING IT ON BROADWAY
A new reality TV show which follows the lives of six young aspiring actors who move to the big city.
The show follows the individual lives of six different aspiring actors, hoping to make it big in New York City with a career on the Great White Way. The opening episode of MAKING IT ON BROADWAY would introduce each aspiring actor in their life leading up to the big move to New York, followed by the next episode showing the big move, looking for a job, and getting by. The series would show the hopeful actors for six months, following them to their auditions, jobs, and daily survival.

It was called the IT Factor. I loved that show. But it was based out of LA and was all about actors trying to break into television and film rather than theatre.

There were actually 2 seasons of The It Factor. The first season was based in New York and included Daisy Eagan and Jimmy Smagula.
Season 2 was based in L.A. and followed the film/television/commercial auditions.

It's also been done in Canada in a slightly different format.
They called it THE CALL and it was on Life Network. I worked on one of the productions that they followed around. They began by filming our casting sessions and auditions, then selected a few of the emsemble members hired and followed them through rehearsals and into opening night.
The exposure was good for the company, but those annoying camera crews kept getting in the way of those of us trying to get a show running. To this day I still haven't seen the episode, and it's killing me that I haven't. Dying to!

Remember the Nutter Family? Here's a picture of Duncan Nutter. Talk about your stage mothers! Mama Rose is a sweetheart compared to him!
