I saw Mame many years ago with Anne Miller. I would love to see Mame back on Broadway with Sutton Foster. I would also love to see Raisin, the musical version of Raisin in the Sun.  I saw that show on Broadway in 1973-1974 with Virginia Capers!!! It was AMAZING!!!

I will forever love "Sidewalk Tree" from Raisin and I'm glad to hear you mention it. My favorite show from that season is Over Here!, which seems to be mostly forgotten. I wish Encores would give that show a second life.

Can we please get an overblown, 80s heavy revival of CARRIE? Encores?!

I saw this wonderful musical post Arena Stage, pre Broadway at Philadelphia's historic Walnut St Theater, and loved it.  This was when the Walnut welcomed visiting productions. Unfortunately, now they present serviceable, and sometimes tired retreads of Classic and not so classic plYs and musicals to a non discerning large subscriber base who wants nothing more than to say "If been to the theater, we support the theater" if sometimes the works are unadventerous and uninspiring on the main stage.

As evidenced by a recent revisiting of "The Last of the Red Hot Lovers"

I still listen to the cast album.  The songs are Amazing!!! I remember watching it on Broadway and being amazed.  The set was minimal and there weren’t any props on stage.  Trivia: Debbie Allen was in the original cast

I too saw Ann Miller in "Mame". They added a bit of tap to the role for her if memory serves.  I saw her also with Mickey Rooney in "Sugar Babies"

They added it for 'That's How Young I Feel.'  Made the number much more fun.  i always thought that number was the low point of the show, so it was much improved.

I never thought about Sutton Foster for Mame, but she would be very good in the role.  Know she'd sell tickets, but not sure how many (vs. a movie star who can sing).

I would also love to see a revival of Man of La Mancha with a new concept.  I believe an interactive approach would absolutely work with this incredible show.  I also think that someone like Hugh Jackman would knock it out of the park.
