Hey guys... I used to post here but haven't in forever. I saw this posted on fbook and thought some of you HAIR fans in NYC might like to know -- especially if you don't get in on the already much-discussed rush.

"Bummed about HAIR closing? Come to the BE-IN every day in Times Square and help save it!
Weekdays 2-6, Saturday noon-6, Sunday noon-2
Come to times square in jeans and hippy clothes, some of the producers and other volunteers will be there to help promote the show. 8 hours of the course of the next week will earn you a comp, 15 hours will earn you 2. We will provide some merchandise, fliers, temporary tatoos, and large placards. any more questions? email COLIN@ANDYSANDBERG.COM"

Posted: 6/11/10 at 12:42amThe producers, or at least one producer (Andy Sandberg) is organizing this. It's a smart move to try to get every buck they can. If it works, they'll maybe get a two week extension. I don't see any harm in that -- it's not like there is a show ready to move in immediately.

Posted: 6/11/10 at 2:28amI just don't see what this will accomplish. Just sounds like an attempt to make a street team without really "paying" them like other shows would.

OY, not about the POSTING of this but the desperation of this. They are not going to SAVE it...but maybe they won't end up playing to a 1/2 full house for their last shows.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The fact that they a) had 500 tickets available to give away on such short notice and b) have enough tickets to give away with this stunt (yes, I'm calling it a stunt because that's what it is) is testimony to exactly WHY it is closing.
For once I agree with adamgreer. They've had a nice run. Just close gracefully.
