While I hate to say I "agree" with the sort of casting that brought her to RENT, I have few complaints. I mean, her part is small, and she does fine with the singing solo.
I don't know how I'd feel about her playing Joanne, though; apparently she's the understudy.

I remember on the Letterman show or something she sang 'I don't know how to love him' in German. I LOVE FRENCHIE!

I love her too. I thought she was supposed to be recording an album or something. I'd love to hear her record an album full of Broadway standards or something.

i saw her in RENT last month. her solo in seasons of love gave me chills (adding to the chills i already got from the powerful song). shes amazing, better i think than the soloist on the OCR (no offense to her though)

Don't care for her.
Her acting doesn't have the raw sass and power I've seen before.
Her singing isn't all that either. And I saw her after seeing Tracie, who blows Frenchie away.

I saw her as Effie in the 5th Avenue Theater production of 'Dreamgirls'. (Seattle)
She was ok, her voice was VERY tired the evening we saw her (her understudy went on for the the following 3 nights) and her acting was sub-par.

she always gets standing ovations in RENT...she is very nice also.

The day I saw her, I think she was either sick or her voice was very tired. She was alright though. She does have real talent and I hope sometime to see her when she's at her best.
I don't think I'll ever like anyone's interpretation better than Gwen Stewart's, though.

Frenchi is soo funny! My friend and I were walking out of RENT and I said to my friend "if i audition for RENT i probly wont get in" and Frenchi said "honey I auditioned 525,600 times" we laughed soo hard, what I dont like about Frenchi is that she wont sign any autographs! She walks out with the audience not throught the stage door like everyone else.

^From what I know the current cast doesn't walk out of the stagedoor. They didn't yesterday during the matinee, and they didn't about 3 weeks ago when my friend saw RENT during an evening performance.
Frenchie signed my playbill and my RENT bible.
We saw her first when she snuck out, and well we were a little unsure of whether she would sign, but she did.
She's great during her SoL solo, but she comes off to be a really vicious stage presence during all her appearances during Act I.

i've seen frenchie go on as joanne... she did just fine. Not very bad, but not exceptionally outstanding in that role, either. I do love her voice and her solo part always gives me chills.

I saw her as Effie in Dreamgirls as well. She centered the entire performance on "I am Telling You..." and seemed lost most of the time. She also isn't much in the acting department.

That's because she's a singer who can act, and not the other way around.

Seen her in Rent both times I saw the show. She's an awesome singer, and an okay actress. Although it was kind of funyn during La VIe Boheme when everyone goes "*gasp* EVITA!" she just kind of stood up and got a CRAZY look on her face and went "Arf, arf!" really squeaky.

Just so we get this straight, Frenchie's understudy in Dreamgirls went on for ONE night only. (no pun intended) Her understudy, Charlie Parker, went on for one night and did very well, apparently, I wasn't able to see it.
Frenchie's got a great voice. I wasn't to thrilled with her acting in Dreamgirls, but if all she has to do is sing the Seasons of Love solo in RENT, I'm sure she'd be fine. She was miscast in Dreamgirls.
