Frog and Toad Tour

Has anybody seen it yet? I know that it just started, and I have tickets for tomorrow night in Schenectady - so I thought I would see if anyone else saw it and what their thoughts were.


I will probably stick up a review tomorrow after the show.

OK....Well I will put in my 2 cents then.

Pros - The show has great backdrops and a procinium (sp?) that the put up for the show. The 5 actors are all very talented - a lot of kid shows I see have zero acting in them, but I really liked Frog and Toad's friendship, and believed that they had known each other for years. The 3 birds did a great job for a harmony heavy show. The show also moves at a brisk pace and they seemed to have the kids attention.

Cons - There were deffinatley some mic issues tonight, but I suppose that is to be expected for a tour with a lot of one and 2 nighters (this was their first show in this space). Although I liked the set elements I mentioned above, some of the other set pieces were pretty cheesy - and my biggest problem was the use of tracked music. The tracks sounded great, but its not the same as a live orchestra.

I would say if you have kids or siblings they will love it - and if you like the show you should go and check it out when it is in a city near you.

I had no idea this was touring. I love this show! I have to see it.

The tour itself is fine. It's the script and music that isn't so great. And possibly the worst lyrics I have ever heard.

"Cookies, cookies, cookies, cookies, we go cooky eating cookies. Maybe we should stop."
"Just one more." (repeat)
