Are front row seats for Once good? Is the stage high? Thx.

I sat second row, on left side orchestra first seat and it was a great seat. Stage is not terribly high to block anything (the theater is not that big). I think the stage was about chest high when I was sitting - but I was able to see everyones feet (LOL - when I saw The Who's Tommy years ago, I was in the second row and the stage was higher than my head. I only saw down to the dancers' calves and did not see any feet at all).
I had read that there was one number where you kind of miss the effect of the choreography if you sit too close.
I now know what number they were referring to (I think they did a piece of it at the Tonys) and it was the whole cast playing their instruments and doing dance movements. I did not think I missed anything by being so close.
I prefer to sit close to see the facial expressions. Sitting side orchestra, you sometimes get the back of an actor but the sightlines are unique and interesting.
One note, get there early and go up on stage (they also do it during intermission). It is a lot of fun.
Hope this helps.

Front row is great for this show. low stage and really makes you feel a part of it
i sat in the front row and had no problems at all seeing. its not like its a big spectacle....plus its easy to get up on the stage before the show and at intermission

The stage isn't too high. However it is probably not ideal to watch the show the first time from front row. It's hard to get the entire picture when you're focused on one area of the stage. I sat in front row after having seen the show a few times and so I knew what I wanted a closer look of (yeh most of the time I was just staring at Steve
)
Front row is perfect. The acting in this show is very nuanced. I was in heaven in the front row
