Full NYSF HAMLET cast announced - Waterston, Ambrose, Colin, etc. join

Richard Easton and Lily Rabe have withdrawn from the production, replaced by Sam Waterston and Lauren Ambrose as Polonius and Ophelia, respectively.

They join the previously announced Michael Stuhlbarg as the title role and Andre Braugher as Claudius.

The rest of the cast features Margaret Colin as Gertrude; David Harbour as Laertes; Kevin Carroll as Horatio; Jay O. Sanders as Ghost, Gravedigger and Player King; Hoon Lee as Rosencrantz; Piter Marek as Bernardo and Fortinbras; Greg McFadden as Guildenstern; Julio Monge as Osric and Francisco; Paul O'Brien as Voltemand and Priest; Gilbert Owuor as Marcellus; and Miriam Silverman as Player Queen.

The ensemble comprises Christopher Bonewitz, Matt Carlson, W. Tre' Davis, Stephen James King and Dana Lyn.

The Hamlet creative team includes scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Michael Chybowski and sound design by Acme Sound Partners. Oskar Eustis directs.

I missed Ambrose's Juliet last year. I was hoping she would be cast as Ophelia and was disappointed when Rabe was announced, what a neat turn of events. I hope I get to see this...not sure if I feel like making the line, but if I do, it'll be because of Ambrose.

The Public is also going to be instituting an online registration for tickets, which won't guarantee tickets, but would eliminate waiting. They will still give tickets at the Delacorte, but not on Lafayette.

EDIT- Just realized yankeefan made a separate post.

About the casting, I really like the idea of getting to see Waterston and Ambrose, especially after her Juliet last summer. Andre Braugher is the true draw for me though. That and my obsession with Hamlet and the need to get the bad taste out of my mouth from the Wooster Group's production in Brooklyn last year.
