I am honestly shooting in the dark, but thank you!
Seasons of Love is a nice opening song to be honest. It has a marketable beat and rhythm. I do agree it is very disjointed from the film. I would have liked it if the cast was singing to an actual audience (like it was at an actual show of Rent) than at empty seats. It would have been a nice gap to join the stage roots of the show with the movie to follow.

In the stage show didn't Mark leave the group to go outside to make a call to Alexi? and then sing Halloween while everyone was inside the church OR somewhere outside getting ready to leave for the cemetary? and then once the song is over bringsforth Goodbye Love.

I dont know what the hell I'm talking about.

this song is great, but the scene is misplaced. it would have been better with flashbacks or something. glad it was cut.

I think you're right.
"And Emcee, you have to download Windows media player to play it. It worked just fine for me."

I would suggest that Emcee and any other Mac users out there forget about Windows Media Player. Microsoft has discontinued support for the Mac version of this player in favor of letting another company support its WMV files and many others types of video files through Quicktime.

The software is free and you can download it here:

I actually really liked that, surprisingly much. Thanks for posting the link.
Not bad. But I see why it was taken out, actually... it's not so much the song itself as the WAY Columbus shot it. Without ANY closeups or changes of angle I don't feel any connection to Mark and, well, the whole song feels pretty dull.

Did Collins choose a phone booth back where Angel set up his drums in the movie?
Hmmm. Good question. Collins wasn't really IN a phonebooth during the "Rent" montage, was he?

		     			No he was not.

And I will say I didn't like this clip. Before I saw it, I was upset that it was excluded. Now having seen it, I am not. I do however wish Columbus would have re-shot it.

It explains another reason why it was cut, at least. With the mention of that "one" night (which was actually stretched out to three) and the "phone booth," it's clear no one was paying a damn bit of mind to any continuity.

Well, that was clear with or without the inclusion of "Halloween."
